Description

Made “for Enzo,” the proprietor’s father, Perenzo bears his name and favorite color on the label.  The dark fruit is accented by peppery notes.  Baking spices and licorice complement these aromas to create a harmonious bouquet.  An opulent wine with a long polished finish marked by fine, elegant tannins.  Aged in new, medium-toasted French oak barrels for 14-18 months and cellared for 6 months in bottle prior to release.

Spicy plum and blackberry fruit nose, earthy and meaty, with nice aromatic length. Lovely density on the palate, blackberry and stewed plums, spice, meat, earth and touch savoury, sleek with lovely balance and length.

On the nose, Perenzo possesses a fruity bouquet with sweet, spicy notes typical of Syrah such as licorice. This is a big, intense wine with elegant tannins rounding out the fi nish. Try with peppered grilled red meats and game or aged cheeses.
